Wearable Ultrasound Patch Monitors Blood Pressure

NanoEngineering professor, Dr. Sheng Xu, has led a team in developing an ultrasound patch that can continuously and non-invasively monitor blood pressure in patients as deep as four centimeters below the skin. This new technology could be used to monitor and track other vital signs and physiological signals from deeper inside the body and could be useful in in-patient procedures.  The study was published in Nature Biomedical Engineering.
