Congratulations to Professor Shirley Meng for being awarded as one of the 4 winners of the 2015 Qualcomm Fellow-Mentor-Advisor (FMA) Fellowship, for the proposal titled, "Making the Invisible Visible: Diagnosing Atomic Level Defects in 10nm FinFET Transistors".
Jinxing Li took 3rd Place in Falling Wall Lab San Diego, a Germany TED event, on last Saturday by "Breaking the Wall of Robot Miniaturization". It is the first SoCal event of Falling Wall Lab with competition from all young innovators from SoCal (SD, LA, SB...).
Deepest congratulations to Suchol for winning the Kaplan Dissertation Year Fellowship for the 2015-2016 academic year. Only ONE of these awards is given on the entire campus per year!

Her defense on "Understanding the Surface and Interface Properties of Electrode Materials in Alkali-Ion Batteries" was presented on March 10, 2015. Ms. Qian has been with the Department of NanoEngineering since Fall 2010. The department is very proud of her achievement!
Amay Bandodkar receives $500 in recognition of his participation and exceptional presentation in the Interdisciplinary Research Awards on February 24, 2015 award presented by U.C. San Diego Graduate Division.
Neil Gandhi is a 2nd year student from the Nanoengineering department and is a Gordon Scholar and recipient of the Engineering Leadership Award from the Gordon Engineering Leadership Center.
A paper "3D optical printing of piezoelectric nanoparticle-polymer" by K. Kim, W. Zhu, S.C. Chen, and D. Sirbuly, has been selected for the SPIE Applications of 3D Printing Best Paper Award.
